Traps alone don't work if the entry points stay open — our Mount Vernon, IL crew seals the building envelope while removing what's already inside. Rodents also gnaw on electrical wiring, which turns a nuisance problem into a genuine fire-safety concern if it goes unaddressed.

Why Choose Us

Why Choose Our Specialized Rodent Control in Mount Vernon, IL

Professional Rodent Control technician working in Mount Vernon, IL

Licensed Exclusion Technicians

Our team is trained in structural exclusion work, not just trap placement — sealing gaps as small as a quarter-inch that mice can squeeze through.

Rapid Local Response

We route technicians fast when a Mount Vernon, IL customer reports fresh droppings, gnawing, or attic noise — those signs mean the population is active now.

Upfront Flat-Rate Pricing

No per-trap billing surprises — you get one number covering removal and sealing, quoted after inspection.

Attic & Crawl Space Equipment

Our trucks stock exclusion-grade hardware cloth, rodent-proof sealant, and attic sanitizing agents, not just consumer traps. Each exclusion job comes with before-and-after documentation of the sealed gaps, so you know exactly what was done and where.

Service Solutions

Rodent Control in Mount Vernon, IL: Comprehensive Solutions

Norway Rat Removal

Norway rats burrow at grade, so we focus on foundation perimeters, deck footings, and crawl space vents.

Roof Rat & Attic Exclusion

We trace roof rat entry to soffit vents and roofline gaps, sealing those before setting attic traps.

House Mouse Trapping & Sealing

Mouse control centers on finding every small gap, since a single unsealed opening undoes the whole job.

Attic Sanitation & Droppings Cleanup

After removal, we clean contaminated insulation and sanitize affected areas per industry biohazard handling standards.

Structural Exclusion Repair

Exclusion work means permanent barriers — not just trap removal — so rodents can't simply come back through the same gap.

Commercial & Multi-Unit Rodent Programs

We service multi-unit properties on a recurring schedule with logged station checks for management records.

FAQ

Rodent Control Questions From Mount Vernon Customers

Trusted Rodent Control service in Mount Vernon, IL - Nex Pest Control

Gnaw marks, dropping size, and even the sound of movement in walls all help distinguish rats from mice — the technician will confirm on inspection.

Trapping handles what's inside now; sealing is what keeps new rodents from replacing them.

We'd recommend waiting — disturbed rodent droppings can aerosolize particles, and our technicians use proper PPE and sanitizing agents for safe cleanup.

A typical job is a single day of work plus a short follow-up window to verify the population is gone.

We prioritize mechanical trapping and exclusion over rodenticide when possible, especially around homes with pets or children.

Pet food left out, compost piles, and gaps around utility lines are frequent culprits we flag during inspection. It's also worth checking your attic access panel and garage door seal periodically, since those are common secondary entry points we find during follow-ups.
